I loved this quirky detective/ghost story. It was such an ususual approach to a detective story. It was completely original, fun and light-hearted, which was pretty amazing, given that this book is about the brutal murders of several women. I don't really want to describe it, because discovering the ghosts in the story is part of the fun. It kept me happily entertained the entire way through. Kudos to the author, who has a great imagination and conveyed her story in a fun and entertaining way. I'm not usually one for ghost stories.... so this is a big exception to that rule. I think the very best part of being a ghost was their ability they had to scare the crap out of the living, because although they can't interact directly, these ghosts with their quirky, different personalities, can definately manipulate outcomes. I really enjoyed this the book for no other reason than the main characters are ghosts. It gave a fun twist to the usual serial killer/murder mystery tale. I would definitely read more cases being investigated by the D.I. Ghost team!
A thoroughly enjoyable, fast-paced story with a very original Detective Inspector at the helm! The storyline begins with a bang and keeps banging right thru to the conclusion. Well done Laurie White - I hope to see more from you!

Just finished reading this fantastic murder mystery and I'm heading to to look for other books by this author. Such an imagination! Very few editing errors, such as a few small words left out, but easy to get past. Highly recommend this book.
The story was nicely plotted and kept me reading until the early morning hours. This story left me waiting impatiently for the next D.I.Ghost. Hopefully she will be putting another one out soon. Her cast of friends and family were interesting and each had their own distinctive personality, which made this book enjoyable. A good read.
It's nice to see a book that puts a different twist on the norm. DI Ghost does just that. Full of interesting characters, not only the main one, Kate, it was entertaining and simply a good read. While we always hear 'you have to suspend belief' when reading some stories, notably those with ghosts, vampires or fairies, or those with outrageous plot lines that go far beyond belief, in this book it was pretty easy to believe in the possibility of Kate and her existence...I put some of that down to the writing skills of the author (cue applause here), and some down to the fact that many of us have faith in things we can't prove but know must exist, whether that be ghosts, vampires, or fairies ;) Add in that it's a well edited book, and this is one you should add to your collection and read as soon as possible.
A sort of paranormal cozy mystery with a serial killer and the ghosts — pardon me, the <i>earthbound spirits</i> of his victims ganging up to solve the crime. Through the simple expedient of the spirits not remembering the trauma of their murders, the author is able to inject some real mystery into the situation, and by having a detective inspector as one victim, she throws in a great heroine. The characters are fully fleshed and believable, the plotline well crafted and clever, and the humor's fab. Okay, so maybe I'm a sucker for dead jokes; they work. Five strong stars despite the proofing and line editing errors.
